I hear talk of mega-mods and the like, this isn’t gonna wind up like the typewriter mod is it? That was a great mod until it got hoovered up into a ‘mega-mod’ compilation which then added 50 tons of junk i didn’t want in my game (i still use the old original version from before it got gobbled up).
Proper Javascript edicate would be to keep each major function of a mod as its own separate script file so you can remove parts at any time and use what you wish.
Its like mods that have that one great function but then they add 250 topics (alot of which are nonsensical and or duplicates but with different names), or a mod that adds 300 platforms without realizing it buries the game because you can’t win, (not enough marketshare to go around for all those new systems)
well i don’t need a mod for that myself, i simply won’t run megamods is all, because they tend to simply break the game anyways. I don’t like spending all day in a game just to find some undiscovered bug in the offending mod’s javascript that crashed my game and i have to start over because of it. (where as if they had seperate mods for each idea instead of smashing it all together into one big script it wouldn’t have happened)
Are you referring to me? Because I’m not a pro coder
I currently work in a retail shop, but that’s just because I’m only 17 and need money.
Next year I’ll probably graduate high school and then I want study programming (focused on games) and become a professional coder.
@kristof1104 on the other hand is a professional programmer. Specialised in application development if I remember correctly
Progress report (for those interested):
Today I’m settting up a private git repo for @DzjengisKhan & Me.
So we’ll probably start coding sunday, or monday.
I got a lot cool idea’s that will be added so keep your eyes out for our first release as a team.
So, I know this might be something to add later but: could you make a server plugin for GDTMP and synchronize the competitors using the plugin? So that we can play this mod with friends? It might seem stupid, but for certain people who only have one friend it is useful
