Well, I just saw the topic now but i have to leave my little contribution. @DzjengisKhan, your mod is basically AWESOME, is the only mod that EVERYONE plays with, you are like the, Leonardo Da Vinci of GDT modding, you are the star, I think that every mod producer in this forum is inspired by you. And Make sure that if you launch a new mod, or simply start updating your Expansion Pack, everyone will be super happy to help you with any issues you have, images, reporting bugs, or helping you from a code stealer.
May I suggest that heās more like the Leonardo Da Vinci instead Di Caprio?
Anyway hereās also my 2 cents:
1Ā° cent: since you are one of the first modders, you have a sort of automatic āpriviledgeā within modders community
2Ā° cent: about code stealing: this technology (html, css, js) is made as is, open and plain. The same creators of GDT had the same discussion when making this game and releasing the source code at the same time, and this is why we had the chance to learn to mod that fast. Anyway, as @alphabit said, people will feel the difference between quantity and quality, so that means you have a huge advantage on everyone else.
I was actually planning on adding the new weighting by using the 4th option you recommended. Since I already made the basics of it when I was experimenting on the moreRealism mod.
Just out of curiosity what ideas do you have for Genreās? Cause I personally thought they were all pretty well defined >_> I made a topic suggesting adding in a new section called themes. This way some topics can go to themes like medieval fantasy, military. then you make topics like beatāem up and first person shooter. I made a thread with my idea.
here it is if you want to read it. I was thinking of modding it myself but it would take forever since I never used javascript before. With you being the legend, if you donāt think it is possible or too time consuming for you then what chance do I have?
Wow didnāt think of platformer as a genreā¦gues I just lumped it up with casual >_> So how are you gonna balance it out? I take it is gonna be more design heavy. Hmmm what could be another tech genre? Is platform gonna be the only Genre you add?
Hey @PatrickKlug, I donāt know if Iām doing something wrong but I found something really weird:
While adding a new genreWeighting I noticed that .splice is not working for the platforms. But hereās the weird thing: using .splice is working for everything else. For topics and the stage missions.
