To Gadgeteer Games

Dear Oliver,

In about one month’s time the GamePocket will be released, I wanted to see if we could do any business in the future and perhaps make plans between our growing companies. We, Draconic Games, have a goal to try and lead in the RPG market if the companies let us and don’t put up TOO much of a fuss with RPG games. What are your goals? Should we make plans between our two companies perhaps?

@Aragon450

Also when the Sega GameGear was created it could only run up to 20 minutes or something like that, you shouldn’t be able to run up to 30 hours, should you? The Gameboy advanced could only run 15 hours, unless in modern technology they changed the battery

Update to GamePocket system specs!

We have made a major mistake in our previous press release, involving the battery life of the console.

The GamePocket will have a battery case big enough for 4 AA batteries, but can operate on only 2 of them. 4 batteries will give up to 12 hours of play time, 3 will give 9 hours, and 2 batteries will provide 6 hours of play time.

Once again, it will also have an optional AC adaptor for playing without batteries, which can be used with an external rechargeable battery pack. See our advertisements for more info.

( @Aragon450 …you’re right. Something must be off on my calculations. Give me a few minutes and I will fix it. )

(EDIT: Found it! I added an extra zero to the July sales of Fractalspace. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

Review of Big Murder Matic

In my case, I loved this game. The folks over there at Game Giant Magazine say that people that are over 18 don’t play video games? Pfft. What are you guys doing for a living? Playing video games and reviewing them. Anyways, with that off the table, let’s get to the review.

Big Murder Matic is a game that some people hoped for, and some people hated on release. It is the kind of game that relieves stress and enthuses criminals. However, the game is heck-a fun. Players can hijack cars and go on a hit-and run, escape the cops, and shoot innocent people? That’s amazing! I don’t really like the driving system, but that’s because I’m more used to games that are strictly based on racing and have more time to spend on a better driving system.

However, there has been a study that this game is increasingly addicting and can increase crime-activity rate, also violence in young children so I’d advise not to give this to people under at least 15 or 16 years old.

Pixel Power rates it an 8.5/10, and gives it the age rating of A, for Adult for gore, sweraring, and partial nudity.

Over one year since orignal closing of Pixel Studios!

Today, Pixel Studios celebrates the one-year mark from the original closing of their company. Congratulations for re-opening and lasting this long when you did reopen, Pixel Studios!

(@apljee Keep in mind that 8.0 rating wasn’t my idea; the whole article was an extrapolation of the rating that MacDon gave to the game.)

Ignore this sentence. BlargTOOSIMILARblarg!

(@Twyster I know, I think MacDon stated earlier that the ratings were based on personal thought, the amount of features the game has, and the technology level at the time. Also the age rating but I gave a custom age rating because #yolo.)

SilverGear Postponed AGAIN?!

Unfortunatley, Draconic Games has confirmed that the release date of the SilverGear is postponed. This time it will be postponed until January 3rd, is this a trick to gain waiting hype for the system to release? Or is it because of lack of money, we do not know but these two rumors give us a hint.

( @apljee Okay, never mind. Also, your date’s off, probably because mine was originally. You’ll want to change your last post to later than November 5.)

(( but then I don’t celebrate the 1 year aversarry of closing of pixel studios D: ))

Review of Quest of Minmus

While the story was of relatively good quality, and the play system works very well, this game has a major flaw.

It’s too mediocre.

In an industry known for cyberpunk pony ghost hunters, monster-summoning mages and futuristic undersea colonies, Quest of Minmus doesn’t spoil us like other titles have with such creative ideas, or even extreme emotions of fear or sadness like those seen from the now-defunct Dark Entertainment.

The Quest of Minmus just… is. It doesn’t surprise you, and it plays out like a pulp fantasy novel except without being cheesy, hammy or grammatically incorrect. Its “major” plot events are so anticlimactic that after about 3 hours I couldn’t play anymore and had to take a day’s break just to keep doing my job.

Overall, the game is like a high-end refrigerator bulb; well-made, but who would actually care enough to buy one?

Review of Bus Simulator '86

An interesting game with an overhead view, it plays like Big Murder Matic’s driving mechanics if you were actually penalized for running over pedestrians.

As the name suggests, you drive a bus through a city. This is surprisingly hard to do, because the other drivers have varying AIs. Some are good drivers, while others are idiots who will cut you off and run red lights.

While the realism of “becoming rich from driving a bus” is dubious, the game fortunately isn’t quite so liberal about HOW this works. Instead of just one day’s worth of profits, every time you drive a bus route to completion, the results are extrapolated into 30 days of profit by every bus in the city, if they had all been driven with the same level of competence and luck.

The game can also can serve as a stand-in for Blasphemous Mommy Mortifier- ahem -Big Murder Matic for younger players, and if I dare say so it has better controls as well. A lack of weapons and ability to walk around might not sit well with the kiddies, though.

Final Score: 7.75

This ad shows each of the four protagonists, one of whom is a unicorn, but gives few details about their personalities or abilities. This marks the first game in the Astrid’s Pony Tales series with a unicorn protagonist.
