Whenever I try to go onto my save file, I get an error message saying "Could not initialize loaded game: SyntaxError: Syntax Error. Please help. Anything is appreciated.
Have you ever used any mods on that save file before? Have you made that save file and then installed mods?
I never installed any mods.
Do you use the Steam? Maybe it’s a problem.

What’s wrong with Windows 8?
It’s a joke me and ny friends have.
8 is cheaper than 7 so it seemed Windows was expecting it to not sell well.
Really there’s not a lot wrong with 8 that I know of but it’s not really that much of an advanced OS.
More than anything else, it was made to be tablet friendly.
So all kidding aside, it sucks that you can’t save your game… Maybe it didn’t install properly so try re-installing and/or re-downloading…
There is a new version of the game out now, maybe that could straighten out the saves.
I don’t see any updates for it on the Windows 8 store. Anything else? How do you Re-install?
Do 1 thing first.
Search for the installation file, it should be in “downloads” folder.
If you don’t see the file in your computer, I’m not too sure then. I don’t really know how Windows Store works exactly.
If you do see it, then minimize the window and start these instructions:
Go to control panel, add/remove programs or whatever it’s called these days… Should be Program something…
Look for GameDev Tycoon, click on it, and you’ll have the uninstall option.
Then after it’s done, go to the install file that you looked up and run it.

EDIT: did some looking and you can re-download the app through the windows store without paying again.
If re-installing doesn’t work or isn’t possible, then just re-download through the Windows Store. Make sure your device doesn’t lose internet connection during the download.

Hm. Alright well I do suggest uninstalling. You can search for the game, right click or tap and hold and you’ll be given the option to delete…
Once you delete it, re-download from the Windows Store. You will not get charged again for re-downloading.
It happens with any game really… Just one thing doesn’t install right or isn’t transfered right and it doesn’t work properly…
Will I keep my Save data?
As far as I know you will lose all data.
Chances are your save was corrupted anyways…
Maybe you closed your device a little too early and that’s why you can’t open the file again.
@GamerX102, you do keep your save data! Although you get the error when loading the save, so there might be something wrong with the save.
