"You've released 1 games for the platform..." + Game Development

Noticed two little bugs which I’ve captured images of and have found methods of replicating. I don’t know if the second bug is actually fixable, as it has to do with how text boxes actually function. Nonetheless, here they are in image form:

The first listed bug is more of a typo. If a console goes off the market and you have only developed one game for it, it will not change to 1 game, but instead say the typical “You’ve released 1 games for the platform…”.

The second bug is caused by dragging your mouse to the right while in the text field for naming your game. By doing so, you make the next screen (where you choose your graphics) partially to complete appear. I haven’t tried pressing the back button while on the new screen to see if you’re actually able to go back, or pressing Next to see what happens, but I’ll try later. It’s possible to bring yourself back to the old screen if you’re still clicking down when you drag over to the right, then bringing the mouse back to the left.

There are also various typos in some of the game magazine interview dialogs, which I haven’t snapped pictures of but will make sure to do so the next time I spot one.

And just wanted to take this last paragraph to note that Game Dev Tycoon is a sincerely awesome game. The problem may still be around where the game gets boring fast after the timeline of the game is over (after 35 years, which is now the standard), but I’m only at Y31 on this new game, and I’ve been captivated to the point of basically playing the whole day, just like after my original purchase. GDT is once again an awesome, addicting game to play with a few new consoles on the block. Would’ve been better if the mBox Next was kept out of the game, however (and I’m going to assume the PS5 will be coming along some day soon, so also hoping that’s taken out, too).
