Any word on this? Still can’t play.
Have you edited your save games at all or used any save game editors?
Can you navigate to your save games and (back up) delete them?
I haven’t used any editors. This was from a dry install and the game has never run more than 30 seconds. I’ll try removing the saved games, but I don’t think this is the source of the problem.
After you remove your saves (and turn steam cloud off) if that doesn’t solve this can you also try running in compatibility Vista mode please. Do this by right clicking on the exe inside the steam apps folder, not the Steam shortcut as that wont work.

Just to add to this (to aid in trouble shooting). I have a GTX 570 and the latest released drivers (326.80) and Windows 7 64-bit and im not having any problems with it crashing.
I know it’s not overly helpful but i don’t want you guys barking up the wrong tree
