Hi.
Problem:
I’ve discovered a bug that occurs when completing contracts related to the progress of said contract. When progressing through a new development or research, the character will sometimes scratch his head, causing all point generation to stop. This action pauses the progress bar until the character resumes his activities. However, when this action occurs in the middle of a contract, the progress does not pause, and yet no points are generated.
The result being that I have failed a few contracts because the character stopped developing, but the progress did not pause.
Suggested Solution:
Either let points continue to generate during the “head scratch” animation, or pause contract development while scratching.
This is not a bug.
During research projects, and development projects (both games and engines), if the character is scratching his head, then s/he is not working on the project and progress stops.
For contracts, the progress bar does NOT measure the progress of the contract. instead it measures the time remaining on the contract. Thus, if the character pauses, s/he is wasting time and the contract may not be completed on time.
Howdy, there’s already a thread regarding these head scratching moments, with some insight there as to why it’s happening. Essentially, it’s simulating the real world. Developers don’t spend 24/7 writing code, and there’s a lot of real-life head scratching moments that happen. If you’d like, you can bring this issue up there.
