When creating sequels to multi-genre games

Not sure if anybody pointed this out, but if you make a sequel to a multi-genre game, the second genre will always stick, even if you removed it when setting up the game.

For example: I have a Spy/Action-Adventure series that’s pretty successful. For the next sequel, I wanted to make it just an Action game. So, on the screen, I clicked Adventure, which brought up the “Pick your second genre” screen. I clicked Adventure again, which removed it from that field, so the game was only a Spy/Action game. However, when the game was starting to be made, across the top it displayed it as a Spy/Action-Adventure title.

Have a screenshot? If so, post it here. I find it weird it even does that.

Here you go, three images are linked there.

The first is the screen shown when I click Make Sequel, and enter the name. The second is when I choose for it to just be an Action game, opting out of it being Action-Adventure. The third is it showing the game as being in development as an Action-Adventure title.

Noticed this myself. Quite annoying when I want to make a sequel of a different theme with only one genre.

Steps to reproduce:

  • make a game with two genres
  • make a sequel with one genre
  • after you start building it, the second genre from the first game reappears

Ditto, tried and found the same problem.

I’ve had the same issue. I was trying to sequelize an Adventure-Casual game. I wanted it to be a straight Adventure game. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to do this…
