Way overshot target game score with AAA title, had 4 specialists, still capped at 9.75

I’ve gotten a perfect 10 game before…but with a medium sized game. Once I move up to Large and AAA games, I never seem to get them, even on games where I way-overshoot my target game score.

To be specific, I have:

For Large Games, at least 2 specialists, each specializing in a field that my genre(s) see as important.
For AAA games, I have at least 3 specialists. I’ve ended up with 4 near the end of some games.

In each case, each specialist is assigned to their field of specialization, and that field is working them to 100% capacity.

I also have no brand-new employees and have enough fans (250K + for Large Games, at least 700k for AAA) to support self-published big games.

What am I missing in terms of getting perfect 10s from larger games?

Thank you, and to be specific. This was the first 9.0 + game…

And I followed it up with this one.

Now to be specific. Spell & Counterspell was made with the same employees and sliders as Slam That Beat. Except that S & C was a proper sequel (1.2 bonus) AND it unexpectedly hit a Target Audience: Everyone trend (making it a 1.4 bonus). Slam That Beat was an original title and did not hit a trend.

So there is NO question that I went rocketing past my target score on the 2nd game, even though the game before it was a 9.75.

My Four specialists were in Graphics, Level Design, AI and Gameplay

There was ONE game made in-between these two, but it scored less than a 9.0 (8.75) and thus shouldn’t have moved the target score. (If my understanding of the mechanics is correct) Here it is just in case.

I have this problem as well. Perfect 10s just don’t happen for me, even if my entire team is composed of specialists assigned to their field of specialty.

During my testing of the latest versions, I was able to produce both a perfect 10 AAA game and a perfect 10 Large game, so it is certainly not impossible. I am not sure if my previous experience was due to a bug or an incomplete understanding of the specialist requirements.

I don’t get straight 10’s ever, at any size of game, even if I condemn myself to a trio of 4-rated games by smashing all of my company’s past performance records.

I think you need to significantly upgrade from your last game, but this is VERY difficult. The best I’ve done is 10, 10, 10 , 9. (or some recombination of those).

YAY, I have 4 10s. Basically you don’t want to do anything less than upgrade and train…

Finally got a game with straight 10’s. Because, obviously, what does the world need more than a Romance MMO?

Ah, look at all the lonely people. I shoulda called it Eleanor Rigby.

There is a random component in the game scoring - candidates for a perfect 10 score can score as low as 9.0 - but this random luck only runs one way (a 9.75 game cannot post a perfect 10 through good luck).
