Steam version 1.4.3 is live

I won’t even get into this sort of discussion. I’m here because I love the game and want to enjoy it on an OS the devs chose to support (and I, in turn, chose to support them as a thank you). Thank you for your reply Charlie!

Holy crap guys, that escalated quickly.
I was only curious as to WHY the game couldn’t be released for Linux yet.
I didn’t mean to start an all-out world flamewar.

I was going to refute that utterly stupid comment, but I see @AGaruna has already done so. Thanks man! Sorry for the slightly angry reply. I thought Linux being hard to use was actually your main point. I disagree with the idea that everything is harder than Linux, but as long as you’re not criticising my choice in operating system, that’s fine by me.

Nawh man, my point was don’t jump down the throat of indie devs! They don’t have the budget, fanbase or the shareholder pressure to just not release for the Linux crowd because of profits.

Just remember the game is still riddled with bugs, even post 1.4.2.

Then you should try some game like pretty bad buggy game without developers support anymore. This is still great privilege we have from our lovely hearts. Bugs are (sadly) part you game you bought. (Don’t hate me, Im only saying the nasty true which nobody likes but it is happening on daily bases)

Don’t act as though people have never seen bugs. I’ve played alpha versions of games and not only are they mostly incompatible with all hardware but the dev’s, they glitch out a lot in the case of 3D games due to collision faults. Bugs are a part of the game, but just remember that you still expect the fixes to come after you bought it. GDT had far less bugs than most games in it’s stage, but bugs are fixable and therefore should be fixed. If it was, say, a major part of gameplay (see Cat Mario) then it would be different, but this is a professionally developed game with easily or not-so easily fixable bugs that people report and expect to be fixed.

I would refute that Game Dev Tycoon is “riddled with bugs”.

Comparatively the amount of users experiencing actual bugs vs those without is minor.

I didn’t mean to say that GDT has a ton of bugs; just that it has bugs and that people expect for them to be fixed when they buy a game. Also, my definition of bugs includes misspelling and cases where the engine can’t handle a certain string being used (ie Two engines called Star, the newest one inherits from the oldest).

New update? 90mb?

It now says 1.4.4 on the Steam version.

What’s been added? Thanks
