The word official implies that its created and/or supported by employees of Greenheart Games.

EWW EWW EWW!!! Bad people! Free hosts and mediafire is a horrible way to do it!

GIve me an hour, Iā€™ll have a domain set up on one of my servers with forum software (Itā€™ll be free software to begin with - Iā€™ll buy licences etc if the site is successful) and mods database etc. Now there is a modding API available for the game it makes sense to have a great fan driven site.

I donā€™t want to be in charge of it thoughā€¦ More than happy to provide technical support etc but you guys will need to decide on some staff members :wink:

EDIT: http://gamedevmods.com <= keep an eye on this over the next few hours, Iā€™ll be building the site :wink: It may take a little while for the name to propagate over the internet though so a few may not see it immediately

Hmm I think I speak for everyone that is impractical when random people start making sites for mods. Thatā€™s why I think I only want to support 1 site. And thatā€™s gonna be @Gold site since he is one of the original persons who wanted to make a site for the mods.

I think we can use @AnimeAi site (it have a dedicate domain) if we ( @DzjengisKhan, @dillion345, @LineLiar and me) are admin and we have the FTP access.

Iā€™m not creating a random site, Iā€™m facilitating. As I said - I do not want to run this, I have far to much to do at work and with my other sites. The domain I bought will be free to use in whatever way @Gold wants, as will the hosting. Iā€™m simply putting a basic site up to get the ball rolling.

I love this game and I want the best possible things done for its community and since I have a set of web servers and Ā£10 for a domain name is peanuts to me I have no problem funding it.

Free sites are dodgy at best and if they see any kind of traffic get quickly shut down or are plastered with adverts. My hosting give a free domain name, free hosting and free technical advice from me :wink: If nobody wants to use it I can always throw the domain away in a year :smile:

@dillion345 come join me on IRC (see my earlier post for the java based link if you donā€™t have a client) and chat things over. The gamedevmods.com site is pretty much fully set up along with a downloads area that should do everything you wanted and more but to be honest I didnā€™t have time to read every post here as Iā€™m a busy man so Iā€™m doing everything through multi tasking. Meet me on IRC and I can get any features I miessed out of this basic site added

I bought tycoonmods.com and i will publish all tested mods under the tycoonmods/gamedevtycoonmods in this week (because will be good theme). If you guys says ok.

I just visited the site. Basically, the spine of the site has been created, all we need now are the fancy parts.
Some features to change:

  • Change the ā€˜Helpā€™ tab/page to ā€˜Tutorialsā€™
  • Change the Home page, the Home page should have a small page with a short description of the site.
  • Add a Forums tab/page and put the forums in there
  • Change the ā€˜Downloadsā€™ tab/page to ā€˜Modsā€™
  • Change to order of the tabs to, Home; Mods; Forums; Tutorials; Login and Register. For when you are logged out
  • Change to order of the tabs to, Home; Mods; Forums; Tutorials; Members; Profile; Messages; Search and Logout. For when you are logged in

Also, would t be possible to change the background etc. to make it look nice and perhaps change the big title with a logo. These are just some things to make the site close to done.
