[QUE] Can we add more features with mods?

Hi i was wondering if we can add features like

  1. add competition of other companies
  2. more workers
  3. price for games
  4. alpha,beta, and pre-order
  5. how many games or consoles you want to produce so if you produce for example 1000 consoles and you sell 5000 you’ll lose sells and the people will buy the competition console

and many more ideas

theoretically you can do pretty much anything but obviously things require a varying degree of skill and knowledge of the code. also, a lot of the things you mentioned are quite complex suggestions, design-wise. It’s easy to say ‘add competition’ but what does that actually entail? It would be great to see a mod that adds competitors to the game and it’s certainly doable but it would be a big job.

the modding API makes a few things very easy. initially there is direct support for:

  1. custom topics
  2. custom platforms and related events/stories
  3. custom events (both random and scheduled) which should enable a lot of ideas mentioned in Which new story events would you love to see in Game Dev Tycoon?
