Hi,
don’t know if this is a bug. I had a game with several sequels. then i decided to make the next sequel an MMO.
after i took the MMO off the market i was no longer able to make a sequel to that game series.
i just didn’t show up in the game list.
The MMO Sequels are called expansions and you have to research it.
If you want to make an expansion you have to make it as long as the MMO is still on the market.
The logic in this is that an expansion in the real industry is like a huge patch with additions of features in the already existing game.
If you take a game out of the market and you want to make an expansion to that, it’s not really logical by the time you don’t support that game any more. So what you do is make a sequel (e.g. you have an MMO named WarLaft and you make WarLaft 2) with a new redefined engine. The same applies at the game.
yeah i know how expansions work.
but i had several non MMO sequels of the game before.
Like WarLaft 1 - Warlaft 7
Then i produced as a sequel to WarLaft 7 a Warlaft MMO with several expansions.
after taking the MMO off market i couldn’t produce a Warlaft sequel.
that’s like Blizzard or Squaresoft saying there can’t be a new warcraft or final fantasy game because we had MMOs
