Most random events are useless

Having played through the game a couple of times, I’ve seen most if not all random events pass by. It strikes me how useless most of them are. After reading the wiki and seeing the effects, this has belief has only been strengthened.

Improve Office Security
Costs money and the wiki says there are no rewards/penalties. Not doing it means you keep getting this event every so often.

Industrial Sabotage
The only reward you get is +1 Evil. This doesn’t seem to have any tangible effect. Why would you pick that option if it doesn’t get you anything else?

Programmer Competition
Always seems to fire during a Contract. Even if that isn’t really the case, having a flag so that events like these don’t happen during Development or a Contract would be a step in the right direction.

In general most events would benefit from some more pros/cons. There is almost always a right decision. Having a certain % chance of something happening might make some events more useful.

Secondly, the effects should be communicate more clearly. Only the wiki tells you what some events do and some of that (good/evil) is still unclear.

Ugh… Come on. People says that this game is unrealistic, and you say that it’s too realistic?
Come on! These random events are realistic, it happens in real life. We don’t just wanna see the happiness of a game developer, we also wanna see the other side of that!
This side, they say the game is unrealistic, That side, they say the game it too realistic. So… yeah. Do what you want.

Not useless at all, it gives a very cheap training for veryone. Allthough if you just had everyone thrrough a training session, it could bit of a overkill for your next game.

My problem with that event is that it fires when you’re doing something. There’s no logic behind someone proposing to do a contest in the middle of contract work.

I think that a realism mode should be introduced where they do have an affect. In that gametype you should gain, but also possibly loose from some of the events, for example:
Industrial Sabatage should have a probability you will get sued, but if you dont your game would sell better.
