Same problem here. Bought the game and I cannot play 
Sat down for a quick game session over lunch, discovered the same. Glad that you are on the case and hope you can get it resolved quickly.
Ran into the same issue here, but I happened to have had to sort this out with another app, so I knew the solution:
In the Applications folder, right-click the app icon and choose 'Get Info". In the dialog that pops up, check the option that reads, “Open in Low Resolution”
This will force the OS to treat the application differently when opening and it should run in full-screen properly.

I bought the game mostly to support the devs (and their hilarious stunt/prank), but I was disappointed to have to wait to check it out!
