Ideal plese for holland costumers

i cant pay for this game coz i dont have a credit card plese put ideal up for holland users plese until u do that just dont ecspect me to pay for this game coz i cant

Translated from jibberish to English;

In The Netherlands, the major online paying method is called iDeal. For us Dutchies, it basically is the only payment method we have, for credit cards are rather rare and not easy to come by.
Now, as far as I am aware, getting the iDeal service for your webshop should not be very costly, but will most likely net you a lot of Dutch customers. It is considered relatively safe to use for customers, easy to use and again, the only major paying method that we have.

On a side note; Holland is not the name of our country. Holland is an old region within our country, which is split into two provinces. The correct name is The Netherlands. If you include all of our off-shore (former) colonies, the term would be the Kingdom of the Netherlands. All very complicated, as you can see, for even our own are confused about it.

In case someone reads this in a bad mood, no offense was given nor meant!

thanks for cleaning it up my english isnt that good…

No worries, I meant the part about jibberish as a joke! :wink:
I just thought I’d put in my two cents about why the devs should look into getting the iDeal service. :smile:
I know that our countrymen and -women are adapting rather quickly to online purchases.

On another side-note, I know you didn’t mean it like that, but consider the following line you wrote;
"until u do that just dont ecspect me to pay for this game coz i cant."
It sounds a bit harsh. Some will just assume you are pirating the game simply because we have no way of paying for it.

I don’t know how my buddy did it, maybe he has a creditcard. He got the game and was so pleasantly surprised that he gifted all of us a copy! :smiley: And I did not regret the gift!

What about internet transfer from your bank account to paypal one ?

I for an example, do not have a CC eligible for internet transactions.
What I do is transfer certain amount of cash from bank to my paypal account which DOESN’T have any CC linked to it.
That’s how I’m doing most of my online transactions and that’s how I bought Game Dev Tycoon.

Paypal is not a very respectable payment company around here. Some of their ‘rules’ go against our laws.
iDeal works great and with less hassle. iDeal has direct connections with all of our banks, so there is no hassle with another account you have to transfer money to.

Hi, im from Holland and i got the game with paypal

I have no idea about Paypal and laws and all actually :S never heard of such things.

Anyway if you dont want to go with PayPal I could suggest "Wirecard"
Its like a virtual creddit card.

As for people who want to see Ideal, yes this would indeed be handy for dutch people, thats for sure, However, in order for an company/website to use the Ideal Module, they need to pay Ideal an substantial ammount of money, sort of a license fee i think.

Translation, so Skite doesn’t need to;
(Like Skite, No offence was given nor meant.)

I do not wish to pay with online services like Paypal, Google etc, I do not trust these sites.

The unfortunate reality is that supporting a niche market with its own payment method does not make much sense. It would cost more to integrate it into the ordering system than it would benefit Dutch customers, who, as we have seen with @Iluyan can use other payment methods like PayPal.

This is especially the case when a third party order processor is used, in this case FastSpring.

So I highly doubt that support for iDeal is going to be coming anytime soon.

I’m from the Netherlands and i bought the game today using bank transfer it was almost the same as iDeal except for the fact that i needed to get my dad to help me… :smiley:

yeah, Banktransfer is exactly the same as iDeal, with 2 big differences.

  1. instead of iDeal filling out every necessary detail for you, you have to do it yourself.
  2. there is a couple of days where the bank has to workout the transaction.

I just bought the game myself (well yesterday (05-05-2013)) using a bank transfer. can’t wait to play :slight_smile:

Im from holland aswell, i too used the good old bank transfer method, got the mail with the download info 3 days after (as said in the payment options)

Did buy a jigsaw puzzle game for my mother from Lenagames, also based in the US. Lenagames uses Mycommerce (from Digital River). Mycommerce acts like Fastspring as a reseller and payment can be done with iDeal. Within moments after payment I received a registration key by mail.

I do have a Paypal account, but transferring money twice, from my bank account to Paypal (yep with Ideal) and transferring it again from Paypal to developer is unnecessary. Also with transfers outside the EU, most banks do charge a transfer fee.

At the moment Bank Transfer seems to be the best way to go in this case. Unfortunately we cannot simply add payment methods as our payment provider FastSpring deals with this side of things.

I used bank transfer as well. Took 5 business days to complete, which is a bit long, but Fastspring responded quickly and well to my invoice question by email.

Another option for the dutchies is Money2.nl, which is a paypal subsidary. You transfer money with iDeal and it puts it in a newly created paypal account. The only downside to this is that they require a minimum transfer of 25 euros, but you’ll have a paypal account within minutes (or so they say on their website).

Don’t be too lazy and think of other ways to do this.
I come from the Netherlands and payed with Paypal.

Personally I have a bad history with Paypal, so a bank transfer was the way to go for me, 3 business days wasn’t that bad of a wait.

Well, what went wrong with Paypal then? :S

Thank you for giving me hope.
I though I would never see the day that a Dutch person would speak English correctly

This post just does not make any sense. There’s plenty of small companies that use iDeal, so it can never be that costly.
With the amount of players that are interested in the game, more than the costs of the system will be covered.
Furthermore, Paypal really isn’t an option. Like I’ve mentioned, they tend to go against our laws. Many of us have had bad past experiences with the shitty company because of it.

Bank transfers are an option, but still not ideal in our case. It’s a bit cumbersome to do them.

@crazyon;
Why, thanks for the compliment! I’m baffled that, even after my first post, there’s still Dutchies that don’t know the name of their own country.
