Well, it doesn’t have to appear on screen, now does it?
To have less clutter and more FPS, it would be best to only show the team leader instead of the whole team.
Hey GreenHeartGames, I would like to say, great game! But I feel some things are missing. Here are a couple of my ideas that should be considered in my opinion:
-
Players can create trailers for their games
-
More detailed booths and more booths at G3
-
More offices and more customization to them
-
Available to make updates for games after they’ve been released
-
Some say in creating the cover art for games
-
Multi-platform games
-
A longer game (35 years felt pretty short and tedious)
-
Unlocks available after high score is recorded
-
Reviews with some helpful feedback
-
To team up with other companies
-
An actual story that ends with multiple endings
-
More information on the categories (World design, story/quests, etc.)
-
More customization and creation to your character
-
Net worth of the company
Those are my ideas, thanks!
-
Wouldn’t that be too in-depth to the game, and make it very hard to create?
-
That would be nice, thats if there is rival companies, then you can see how they did aswell.
-
Agree 200000%

35 years in my opinion is fine, its just the time needs to go much slower so its more realistic as a whole year takes 10-20 minutes to do.
It might be too in depth and hard if they could custom make it. But they could make 3 categories where you can research and adjust, the trailers can also slightly effect the game you release.
Well I think Trailers should be included into “Hype”, maybe make a few different options so you can get extra hype for your game/.
I think you should be able to chose the business model of each game you make,(yes each business model should have prerequisites) for instance, if you have online multiplier, you should be allowed to make the game subscription based. and in return for less money per sale, you will continuously make money but gradually lose subscribers(their should be random events that can increase the subscriber amount or no events at all and let it happen by itself) or maybe allow the free to play model where it would be like the subscription style but you get less money per sale and over time, but the time in which you keep players(and thus people buying the in game items) will be longer. one more not so related thing, online games should cost money to run because you have to pay for the servers, just an small idea.
more control over buisness model is a good idea, but it need deep change in the princing/selling part of the game.
- custom game price and special edition (collectors, soundtrack and other extra)
- live price change (chrismas discount, 2 years price down, mmo change model for free to play…)
- pay what you want (like humble bundle)
- DLC
- freemium/ free to play
- monthtly payement (like mmo)
- crowdfounded game or extra features
- ads supported game
- hybrid model with a mix of all first
and of cours a good algorythm betwin buyer price and model.
Some other stuff
- with steam/grid like online store, game distribution never stop (expect in physical form)
- special game size : the “when it’s done” type (but here quality of the game can’t be evaluated by proportions but only by quantity (and fan beta test feedback) so it’s a huge change in the game mechanic
- externalise some part to hi quality specialised team or to offshore developpement
- when you become so big your “to big to fail” be able in R&D by marketing campagn to create custom tendance for your next game
- multi plateform
- multi topic
- DRM / no-drm
- analytic data (selling evolution, hype evolution, piracy evolution, plateform evolution…)
- employee specialisation on genre and/or topic
- hire or funding succes mod developper to work on sequel or just improve there mod for longer game life
- boost community and game life with game update, level editor improvement, mod contest with rewards…
- if official translation are to slow, community translation aviability as beta could be good thing !
That’s all for now
I feel as though we are asking for too much of the devs, if I recall correctly, they said they were a two man team.
just a consideration, I feel as though when they announced the updated everyone jumped on the opportunity to say their ideas, but I feel they will only make the game less mathy and maybe add one or two mechanics. also, too many ideas may overwhelm the devs.
I’m pretty sure they have expanded to 3-4 if I’m not mistaken, am I? But with the ideas, you know that the developers won’t ever be wondering on what to add to the game, as all the ideas are on the forums…
In the August Steam release, it would be great if you integrated the mBox Next and PlaySystem 4 recent developpments.
The game is really good, for real, but still, after 30 years it is VERY boring, the game is too short.
Plus, the game is so linear it makes the experience bad, you need to come up with ideas to make it less linear.
I say, you can get a publisher and make it so much better!
And now let’s talk about some of my ideas to add to the game;
Let’s say, after 25 years, you have about 30 games, you become a large company with lab,
research team and all of that, BUT, in this game, you’re still have only what, 8 people you work with?
it’s kind of a joke? you have console on the market, and only several workers on game,
I say, you could add a feature to purchase studios, it would make the game almost perfect to be publisher
And just when you’re becoming a publisher, then you could develop a console.
Online feature - if you can (I guess that for this you will need publisher) every studio of bankrupt other real player, you could buy, or ask people who are online and have a great studio to buy the studio and ask
them for games like they are really yours, people could quit, and you could hire people - real people,
playing online.
How does it gonna work? talented people will get more points and level up by every good game they release - for this, you should improve the game development stages, adding more and more features to choose, and not just sitting there waiting to time to past and see bubbles pops up.
You should also improve the development of engines, and again, people just sitting there,
waiting to time to past and all they see is bubbles pops up,
And then, publisher comes, you can develop for your studios engines while they’re doing something else.
You coud also improve the quality of AAA games by letting studios work together,
X studio will work on Stage Dev 1, Y studio on Stage 2 and Z on 3.
ONLINE FEATURE - will be real great, especially with help from good publisher,
and the way I see it, online feature will bring the game to the top.
Now, to the G3 thing, as a large stand in it, you can show only your game! which is very weird.
As a publisher, you get to choose what you can show, even to announce early on your console,
Or on buying studio and more things.
Plus, you should make the options for make like a… mini company of yours or something like that,
I mean, EA have EA Sports, then something like that.
Hey there! I really like the idea of an online feature. Hooking up with friends and each one of them creating a different stage.
The idea of studios working together is great also. Lovin it!
This would be AMAZING to be added into the steam version! it would totally attract more players! And increase purchases!
Amazing ideas.
The online idea is truly great. I’d love to play online with my friend and make games together.
Also, with online play, two companies can enter the game and be competitors and try make the better game and have more fans than your competitor and do campaigns against your competitor.
Would be sweet. Hopefully greenheart notices this
Thanks^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You should be able to make DLC (downloadable content) for a new game you released about one year or two ago.
I think it could be a neat little feature.
I agree with DLC. It would be a nice feature. Outsourcing your big IPs and funding indie developers late in game or buying out cash bleeding companies would be great. Maybe even a look into the future where you open up larger offices and release multi-platform or multiple games at a time.
I liked Game Dev Tycoon, it’s a great game in fact. However, there is still much room for improvements, so here is some of my ideas for the game:
- Multi-Platform release: Most games are released on more than 1 console, so this can make it more realistic. The catch is that it would take a longer time before release because you need to port the game for the other console.
- More Genres: 6 main game genres is abit… bland, there should be sub-genres like FPS, TPS, Beat 'em Up, Hack and Slash, Platformers, Stealth etc. It’s hard to define a game just by looking at which genres it is. For Example: An Military-Action game(Call of Duty). Okay, I can see it’s an action game, but is it a FPS or a platformer?
- Missing Console: Vena have a missing console, where’s the Sega Saturn based-on console? Vena Jupiter? Vena Neptune? Where is Vena’s 5th generation console? And I think the name and the visuals for the Mbox Next can be changed to Mbox One already.
Those are just some of my ideas.
Agree with Multi-Platform, it should be more expansive but you’ll get more money for it(if the game was any good)
