I have a strange problem: When development of a game is ready and I get the reviews, there is some text missing in the Steam version. This did not appear in the “direct download” version. The problem is there on Mac and on Windows.
Thank you for letting me know. Can I check if you have used any mods? and what resolution are using?
It makes no difference with or without mods. I even copied my Steam Workshop mods to the Mod folder of the direct download version, and the text is OK. In the Steam version, the text is screwed up even without mods.
On the Mac I use 2880x1800 (Retina, virtual 1920x1200) and on the PC I use 1080p60.
Mods can actually cause this kind of behaviour which is why I asked. Once a mod has been used on a save game, the save games data is irrevocably changed and any errors are then stored in the save games data. However if you have experienced the same behaviour on a save game which has never had a mod used on it then it is likely a resolution issue which we will investigate. We did have some known issues with Retina displays in the early days so it may be a throwback to that. I will forward this resolution setup for testing. Thank you for letting us know.
I thought about what you wrote, too, so I also tried starting a new game without any mods, and that shows the same behaviour.
Just wanted to double check that you see this on both Mac and Windows? From the description it sounds like a Retina issue but if that happens on Windows too then it’s likely something else.
