You have a very limited timeframe to make the patch. You pretty much have to tell one of your employees to make the patch as soon as you get this event. If you wait, the option will vanish and the fans will be mad. This is not a bug, it is by design.
The whole point of this event is to force you to make a choice. The event ONLY fires when you are in the middle of making another game. If you want to make a patch, that means pulling one of your employees off of your new game to develop a patch. This will make the fans happy, but potentially cause the game quality of your new game to suffer (as the employee isnât generating any bubbles while theyâre busy with the patch).
If you decide to keep all your employees focused on making your new game, the patch option will come and promptly vanish; waiting until you finish your game isnât a viable option. You canât have the best of both worlds.
This event is lose/lose by nature. Luckily, it is coded to not fire again too soon after it happens the first time, so you wonât have back-to-back games with this problem.
There MAY be one thing bugged here: When this event fires, you lose a chunk of fans. However, if you successfully make a patch, I donât see any of those fans coming back, when logically they should be happy about you taking the extra time and money to patch your last game. By the way the messages are worded, it sounds like patching the game should give you back your lost fans and/or give you even more bonus fans.
