I mentioned some of this in my Ideas post but I figure the BUG category is more appropriate and I will go into a little more detail.

Dyslexic GDT

So for some reason, when a news report comes in or when my company name is mentioned, there are often times where GDT will rearrange the letter of my company name per word. I am not sure how the game generates text, but I believe if the name were saved as a variable, I am unsure as to why it comes out scrambled.

This of course does not hinder my experience with the game, though it did make me skeptical at some of the decrypted messages (thinking they were not legit and being shady). I have now realized it is a bug and not done on purpose. Just a small thing.

Random Pauses

The game does however randomly pause as if it were freezing. This hindrance does scare the hell out of me if I haven’t saved. It has yet to actually freeze and require a force quit and I always save immediately after it resumes. This can happen at the start of a game or very much involved in the later parts of the gameplay. It is quite random with the only consistence being that it is normally after I open the dev menu (single click).

Mac - OSX Mavericks DP7
16GB Ram
Running on an SSD with plenty of room
Latest Steam GDT Version

Note: No other processes, outside of maybe iTunes or Safari are running. (May happen when no other applications are running)

The text-scrambling from news reports is not a bug. It’s done on purpose and intended to be humorous. Perhaps the developers have had trouble with illiterate media coverage?

Yeah definitely a reference to the game itself, or something in video game history which eludes us all.

The wrong company name ‘bug’ is actually done on purpose. It’s like the Nigerian scammers who spell your company name wrong too, but then it’s the media. It’s meant to be humor, but I thought it was a programming fault too before I saw some reactions.

There’s not much I can say about the freeze bug, especially because you’re on a mac and I’m not specialised in that sort of stuff. It might be a good idea to contact @Charlie about this. :smile:

My apologies on the name scramble being a bug then. I do remember the Nigerian scammers mispronouncing my name which made me skeptical however when the news did it I saw it as a bug.

So maybe, if I may suggest, if it is possible to create some sort of simple ‘autocorrect’ for words then the company could maybe be autocorrected into a different name. At least for the news reports. So that the word(s) is/are merely replaced with something else that still represents English(native game language). Then the media would truly have trouble getting the names correct but it also not seem like a word jumble. :smiley:

The Nigerian scammers, or any other scammers that may be added later, could have the current effect of a complete mixing up of things so that it seems more iffy.

Just my take on it.

As for the pausing, as I said, its more of a ‘don’t crash, don’t crash don’t crash! ahh!’ moment, where nothing has yet to truly happen that is game devastating. Maybe @Charlie will read this post and see it :grin:

The word scramble only happens to me when I get interviewed. They’d call me “CaonnS tudios” instead of Canon Studios. I also my PC is slow, so the game is always freezing. :confused:
