I can only find GameDev Story and Gamedev tycoon for this precise type of game.
These are the two only game developping simulation sharing same caracterisitcs in game design.
(Software Hit does NOT apply because it’s fundamentally different from these two games.)

GDT is a ripoff from GDS.

by putting their own twists on existing genres. Just compare Zero Wing to Touhou project.
Both are top-down shumps but completely different games.

the “games industry” has some serious problems, one of them being that every product is a ripoff, these guys know this, hell they even made their game a simulator about it, but yet they still chose to make it their career in real life?

The amount of innovation GDT brought to the table is massive. It disappoints me to see so many people not giving the game a chance because it was inspired by a more popular title. Greenheart are doing things to try and benefit the industry. They are active with their fans and take criticism very well. Quite frankly the wave of angry fools who haven’t played the game who have swarmed the forum is ridiculous. This is a nice community and we don’t need people like you.

they bitch about piracy and release their game with DRM despite saying the opposite.
They steal a game,sell it and then proceed to complain about people pirating it.

1 Watch your language.
2 The DRM is only applicable to the pirated version which they released.
3 The game was inspired by GDS along with several other titles, they innovated and improved that’s how the industry works. The industry cannot exist without inspiration.
4 They taught the pirates a lesson. Rightly so. Pirates go through many loops to try to justify theft, by all means take from EA and big conglomerates that ruin the industry, but don’t suck the life out of an indie dev. 97% of people couldn’t even pay $8 to support the game they just stole it.

1 You have not played the game so you cannot even begin to see the innovation.
2 There is a huge difference between inspiration and theft.
3 Have you read their motto, what they are doing and the stance they take is all beneficial to the industry.
4 There game was released at least 2 months ago for Windows 8.
5 That similar game isn’t ‘this’ game is it.

How so ?
They just updated the graphics to attract childrens.
A huge part of the userbase is probably childrens who can’t pay for a game that hasn’t a physical support.
They can’t complain about piracy.

100% downloaded and tried the game
3% decided it was worth they money
97% will delete it or let it rot on their hard drives.
