I had made a game in the PS3/M-box 360 era, and I had made quite a few sequels to it. Then I made another sequel, but this time it was an MMO. After it had started losing me money, I took it off the market. Now when I try to make a sequel to these games, they don’t appear in the sequels menu anymore. None of them, not even the original game. Is there some sort of fix to this?
this bug must be pretty major.
Not a bug. When you make a sequel to a game, it gets ‘used up’ for sequel purposes and no longer appears on the list of games from which you can make sequels.
Because MMOs are meant to have expansion packs, I don’t think you can make a sequel to it with a non-expansion pack game. In essence, you’ve capped off that IP with the MMO and thus can’t make another sequel to it. You should be able to find another game with the same genre that you do a sequel off of, even if you have to go all the way back to one of your garage-era titles. The ratings and fans of the original does not impact the ratings or sales of the sequel.
