I am not sure if it’s only just me, or there is other facing the same problem (I did a search beforehand, do pardon if I missed out any thread). Say I am filthy rich in the game, and had unlocked all the available options for the game engine, and decided to build a “super-game engine” by selecting all the available options from each of the sub options (graphics, gameplay etc). However, when the engine is finished, and I decided to use it on my new game/sequel/expansion pack, it did not show up on the development stages.
Say for example;
Game name : Blah Blah Blah
Topic : -insert genre here-
Genre : -insert your any 2 pairings here-
Platform : -insert any platform here-
Engine : “Super-Game Engine”
After that, I clicked next which would bring me to the graphics options, in which I picked the highest (currently it’s 3D V5 for me)
Next it would be Dev Stage 1, HOWEVER, there is no options for the engine seen anywhere. The same problem goes through for the whole Dev cycle.
Do tell me what you think is the problem. Thank you.
The capabilities of your engine determine what options you are offered (other than the sliders) at all three stages of development - your engine needs Open World support to select Open World in World Design in stage 3, for instance.
Thanks for the reply, but you’ve misinterpreted my question.
What I meant was, I had already researched on all the available options for the game engine, and went on ahead to build a “super-game engine” which supports ALL of the available options. However, when attempting to use them during the dev cycle, the options did not even turn up. It only turned up when I “downgraded” my engine by rebuilding another engine with less support.
Although I did not have the money to create a lesser game engine I can confirm that if you add too many options (it seems) the options that the game engine should provide aren’t available. It’s pretty annoying to spend 2M on an engine and be provided with less options than your older 200k engine, resulting in a lesser game.
EDIT: I actually found out that I named my new engine the same as my old engine so I think it was probably my old engine that was now at the top of the list, a feature to check the features of an engine would help out here. (Or simply not allowing duplicate names, or creating engine ‘sequels’ as a feature)
Well, sorry for NOT updating to the newest version. I posted this when I first got the game and it was at ver 1.3.2.
I don’t see a reason for you to be all rude out of the sudden. If you want me to try it on the newer version then just ask politely. How would I know if this has been fixed if there wasn’t a single reply till these few days. Geez.
You didnt waste my time thank you for support the game and updatin to the newest version. anymore problems come about just report them me or patrick will look into them.
Good to hear that it is fixed. Didn’t want to be so rude or insult you in any way.
Just updating to latest version is in my eyes common sense. Because if it is already fixed then dealing with a bug report is a big timehog for anyone who is involved in it - and to later realize that the bug is already been fixed…
