Bug in the game development in stage 3

I can chose rich backstory in the stage 3, but the game engine hasn’t containing this feature.
I made new engine for testing, but I got same result.
Here is the list:
Test 1: Test engine (3D v6), large game, 3 platforms.
Test 2: An old engine (2D v2), large game, 3 platforms.
Test 3: Test engine (3D v6), medium game, 1 platform.

This has always been the case - i always assumed it was intended behaivour (as a rich backstory doesn’t require any technical ground established in the engine)

Huh? This has to be a bug. I’ve always had to build backstory support into the engine.

At least, I thought I did. BRB, verifying.

EDIT: Antiverified. Rich Backstory doesn’t need to be engine-supported in order to implement it in the game. You just have to know enough about World Design in order to build one.

Okay guys I believe you, but I want to see the “official” answer.
I see now. After I have developed a rich backstory, I can’t add to the engine.

Rich Backstory isn’t a Engine Feature, so after researching it will be available in your games.

See it like this.
For example World of Warcraft ( choosing this game, since almost everyone knows it. )
Blizzard did not have to include the huge Warcraft story into their MMO engine, because it excist outside of the game as well.

Thank you for your response.

Requiring engine support for a backstory really doesn’t many any sense, anyway. Rich Backstory has to do with the quality of the game’s writing, there’s no technical requirement whatsoever. Going straight from researched to usable is the only logical course.

Yip, What Jay said!
