An idea that will add TONS of fun to the game!

I recently made a game that sold 5M copies but the income was about 4.5M bucks, that means that each game in game dev tycoon costs less then 1$
so i was thinking, what if it was possible to choose the costs of the game?
and i don’t mean using numbers (because that would be too hard) but just an option tha allows you to choose between low price, normal price and high price would make the game WAY BETTER
i think that the mechanics should work this way:
if you choose low price you will get less money but more sells and also low priced games will gain you more fans!

If you make a normal priced game it would be normal

and if you make a high priced game you could make more money but less sells and gain less fans

I think there should even be a way to make free games that won’t help you with money but it will gain you a lot of fans

The way i see it is:

Making a low priced game means the game doesn’t have to be so good to make a lot of sales but it still won’t be making so much money, this is recommended to players with a lot of money.

Making a normal priced game means playing it safe, it means not taking a risk and just making a game

Making a high priced game means the game needs to be really good (i think about 7 at least) in order to make sells and if it’s not it could make the company lose fans, making a high priced game means taking a big risk.

And i think that there should even be an option to make a free to play game that won’t make any money but could gain a lot f fans!

I think that if you add that option to the game it would make it much much better!

Thats a good idea but continuing on that idea,I think that we should be able to make editions to the game and make a sales price, like Medium Games ($10-$40) for example

I would be for this myself. Even a more simpler thing by making difference in prices between small-AAA games. If there is a difference now, please how much is it?

Can’t you just use, for example 3D graphics v1 instead of v2. Won’t that make the game cheaper? If you want to make an expensive game, develop an engine with everything you researched so far and implement everything possible into your game and BAM, you spent tons of money on a game.

this is a good idea, I think you should also be able to make ports of your previous games, say you were developing a game for the playsystem and just as you finished developing it, the dreamvast comes out, why can’t you port the game to the dreamvast? and also why can’t you make the game for more than one system at once?

Cool idea, really like it!

A difference in prices? I have noticed that in level 4 office, when I make a AAA game, I get tons of money from it, I think it depends on the size of your game.

I just chalked it up to having a hell of a lot more sales then when I was making small games. Like said I would like to know the amount each type brings in.

Yeah same here, I would love to know aswell :L Anything from the developers?

The ability to play your own game. That would be sweet, you could change the game whilst playing it.

Yes I love that idea because for 1 it would bring in so much more money and it gives you a lot more experience with using each system and porting would make the game a lot more intresting

but if that idea was implemented, one good thing you could do to the game (Developers I mean), is that if you completely bomb your port to the new console (Like in reviews), you could end up losing money more quicker just from how much you invested in that console, so its a risk to take and not always can work.

exactly, it would be a challenge, like with dark souls in the real world, it was really popular on consoles, but the port to PC wasn’t as successful

Basically like some games nowadays, then reviews can be like “This was a really bad port, shouldn’t have done it”, etc. And you can go more risky, by trying like a port to mobiles, so Ipad, Iphone, PC, PS4 for example and you can get 2/4 successful.

that’s IMPOSSIBLE to make dude that kind of game can’t be invented until about 2020
it would be amazing tho

I know, but it would be just amazing if they could add that.

He did not mean it like that, more like the price of the game you made in the shops…

Yes because an excellent triple-A game brings in 10+ million copies. And you end up with 10 million meaning 1 unit costs $1 approx.

It doesn’t cost $1 as I sold 1.1 million in my first week and made roughly $3 million.

Still, that means $3 per copy.
My point is that real games cost way more than that :-?? 20 to 60 bucks depending on size/studio/publisher etc.
