Anything for you guys  I hope as your organization grows, you strive to maintain this level of community interaction, though it is difficult from a management point of view, the industry is poised for a movement to consumerist perspectives.

We will try our best. Right at the moment though I will collapse. It’s 4:17 AM here and I haven’t stopped writing since I’ve published the post and AFTER I made a release…

I don’t mean to be rude, but don’t you have any trusted source of people who could help moderate right now? Currently, it’s three things that matter:

  • People who can’t purchase or have issues and should contact support/orders@fastspring.com.
  • Moderating discussions that are exploding into troll fodder.
  • Bug complaints (by the way, you really may want to update the “Known issues” on the website. Oh wait, website’s been slashdotted.

why did you close those threads? The discussions where civilized and mostly where about disagreements with Green heart games.

I dont think they should appoint community moderators. The organization does a great job at it themselves, and it would be consistent with their freedom of speech demeanor.

This topic is now closed. New replies are no longer allowed.

I will go to sleep but my brother will watch this space. WATCH OUT. We will close anything that gets out of control or is extremely rude or abusive.

However, we are all for open communication so as long as you are civilized you can voice your opinion…

My apologies for the earlier absence. I had to answer a lot of email and mistakenly closed the tab with the forum…

@PatrickKlug a general thanks to you both for staying calm yourself there is one good thing involved with this: attention

he closed threads because they where disagreeing with him. That’s hardly staying calm.

He closed it probably because it was non polite and let me tell you one thing if you think this is a ripoff you don’t have any idea of how things work or you are trolling. or both. Every Developer would tell you that this game is clearly not an ripoff.

Just buy the game or don’t. its as easy as that.

it doesn’t change the fact that it’s stealing. The two games look strikingly similair and operate the same.

no they dont its an office and? where are Games developed? Right in Offices… so sad

Game Mechanics and Design are completely different.

the mechanics are also the same.

Cities XL is a ripoff of Simcity, therefore Simcity has grounds to sue. I made a chair before you, therefore if you make one I get to sue you.

Stop feeding the obvious trolls. No one in their right mind would call it a ripoff. Similarly, the threads were locked (not even deleted) because all they did was repeating “HURR DURR RIPOFF HURR” and Trollbait falling for it and trying to reason with the trolls. Also, these games are also TOTALLY the same and look SO similar [/sarcasm] image

I actually think that its because the games are similar (to say they aren’t is crazy) that this is the reason why everyone suddenly brought the game, upon hearing about.

I’m sure most people on here had played game dev story on a mobile before and GHG’s just gave everyone the one thing that Kairosoft never did, the chance to play the game on a big screen using their pc, instead of having to fiddle about playing it on a small mobile screen.

If a company release one game, then a few later another company takes that idea and releases a similar game, but then improves on it as well, then what is there to complain about?
At the end of the day its us public who benefit from all of this so wheres the problem?

That’s saying that the Atari 2600 was stealing off of the Magnavox Odyssey, Greenheart Games was inspired by Game Dev Story, they aren’t copying.
