Startup instructions!
The startup instruction will just tell you the basic controls and tell you how the quest
system works!

Names over text "bubbles"
I will be adding character names over each character in the game! That way we will remember who they are ! :slight_smile:

In the quest system there is 4 categories…
All quests
Active quests
Completed quests
Failed quests

And then there is 2 kinds of quests

Side quests
Side quests has nothing to do with the story
these quests are at characters that walk around the world
Story quests
These quests are the ones you would do to follow the story

#VOICES!?!?!?
So currently I want to work on few voice acting to be added into the game.
You’d be able before you start the game to choose whether you want the voice acting on or not.

But also I need voices for some few characters in the game.

So I am looking for volunteers!

The requirements

  1. You need to have a clear/good microphone, no background sound and you have to be able to be heard clearly
  2. I don’t want a squeaking voice, this could be annoying for certain people. Mainly the characters are grow ups so they would have a quite “deep” voice than what kids would have
  3. You’ll have to speak English, ofcourse not everyone can speak perfect English, but what is needed is that you’d have to be able to pronounce certain things correctly :slight_smile:

These are the main requirements. More explanation will come if you decide to volunteer and get chosen :slight_smile: For now I just need a few people to voice the different characters

also female voice actor would be good aswell as some there is women in the game aswell

If there is no voice acting from more different people, the there would only be jack’s voice and maybe my friends voice to some of the other characters.

How to apply

On the forums you’ll need to send me a sound file with you saying
"Hello I am [Your forum name here] and I would like to volunteer as a voice actor.
I think I would be a good voice actor for Jack’s Adventure."

Few enemies walking around that you can attack
Probably more side quests
*Many side quests will come later in the game

Also I might make an alchemy where you can create different kind of potions
You will need to either collect or buy the resources needed to make a potion

From now on I will not only put updates of my game here.
But I will also put them on a quick website I have been puttin together.

Here you will be able to:

  • Check the changelog
  • Follow the updates
  • Be able to see what I am working on for the next update
    • Divided in: Worked on, finished, bugs,
  • bugs fixed
  • There is an comment section where you will be able to write your opinion, suggestions and bug reports.

In all fairness, this doesn’t look too bad and I like your passion. Plus, 136 hours of development from one person speaks all sorts of promise.

But you’re still using RPG Maker.

Either your game is:
A. Something a 12-year-old threw together like most games you can find on Steam Greenlight
B. Actually good and just so happens to run in this engine

Even the external coding in RPG Maker feels limited. While simplicity would usually be a great choice, the stock settings and abilities of RPG Maker VX Ace are like ebola on steroids. I haven’t played your demos yet, but if you are working on systems that come with the engine flat (i.e. combat system), then you’ll just have another generic JRPG on your hands no one will want.

I don’t expect it to be that good, it’s made in rpg maker and yes it does have limitations
Although some people have actually created very good games with it

And I want to “stand out” as much as possible but this is the very first game i have created with rpg maker so i am trying to make it look different and the use of scripts that people make can help a lot

and i can happily say that i am not 12 :smiley:
