Windows RT Vs Windows 8 full

Hi,
I’m thinking about buying this game for my windows 8 (full) tablet (Vivotab Smart) and was wondering if there any advantages in buying the windows RT version - I know that the game itself is the same but one version could be more optimized? Also maybe the touch detection works better/faster in the windows RT version? Anyone compared the two versions? Thanks.

They are identical, all versions are JavaScript running in a custom Chromium browser.

If you buy the game from the Windows 8 Store, then when you download it onto a Windows 8 RT (ARM) device, you’ll get the ARM version of the game, but download the same game from the store on a Windows 8 (or Windows 8 Pro) machine, and you’ll get the x86 version.

What you won’t get is the Desktop version (the one for Win XP+, Mac OS X 10.7+, and Linux), nor the Steam version if it’s green-lit. However, they are working on verifying your Windows Store purchases to allow that… the short answer there is ‘maybe someday’.

That said, as Jeff ( @codinghorror ) has stated, all versions are coded using the same Javascript base. The Desktop version packages a Chromium instance into the download so that you can run it, the Windows 8 version runs natively thanks to the Modern UI’s handling of HTML5.

You can’t buy a WinRT version. if you buy it on Win8 store it will automatically get whatever version fits the tablet. If you have a tablet you get the WinRT, if you have the full version you get the other one.

The WinRT version is much less taxing on the system. We use lower framerate, lower resolution and fewer sounds so if you want the best experience play on a non-RT system.
