Windows Phone 8

@PatrickKlug and @DanielKlug,

I was just wondering if you guys had any plans to release game dev tycoon on the windows phone 8 by any chance.
The reason for my asking is because I just bought a windows phone from Nokia and I thought that I would have found game dev tycoon on the Microsoft store, but I can see that the store for the windows phone is different from windows 8 itself bcuz the OS is a mobile version of the PC Operating System. However, if you guys happen to make a windows phone version of GDT or make a version for all mobile phones then that would be cool too. Either I still give GDT an 11 out of 10 after a year of game play lol. Thank you guys for making an awesome game that is great re-playability.

No plans at the moment. Unfortunately Windows 8 Store apps are not automatically compatible with Windows Phone 8 and the technology we use isn’t well optimized on mobiles :frowning:

So if you guys did make a version for the windows phone the game would have to remade for the mobile platform so there wouldn’t be any issues with the game, if I’m not mistaken

Can this make a difference to it?

Well that does make difference, but I heard that they were planning on turning every windows based device from the xbox to PCs all the to the windows phones and surfaces all as one universal Operating System but from what I read I’m slowly starting to doubt it.

They hired people to merge WP and WOA a year ago. Following the news as a result we can expect something of their work in Windows 8.1.1 and WP 8.1. So far there have not been working on any other direct merges as far as i know and I have been following the news around WP quite well as I had lots of Nokia stock. There have indeed been more speculations about desktop and xbox, but nothing more than that.

What they intend to do is make their softwaredesignprograms smarter by letting you design a program in 1 language and on the background they convert it to other languages to make it compatible on different devices. In that point of view Microsoft is, following this weeks news, planning a takeover of Xamarin who offers developpertools crossplatform on windows, osx, android and ios.

Edit: the surface is not a device on itself. it’s just WOA or a PC depending if you have a Pro version or not.
Written from my surface pro xD

Fair enough and sorry for not replying over the last week, I’ve been working at my new job like crazy and I don’t get to hop online that often since starting this job.
