Will Game Dev Tycoon Ever be released on Consoles/OS/Devices?

Yes @That516Kid however the expenses of purchasing a rights to develop a game for the consoles/ putting them on the console market would be expensive for the GHG’s to do. They want to make money not lose it.

They could. But it wouldn’t work.

What would be the point? Most people having a PS3 probably play games on the PC too. The steam version would be cheaper so they would go for that one instead of the PS3 version… so, what’s the point? Also, Greenheart Games isn’t a very big company. :stuck_out_tongue:

@LineLiar well it could be an idea for the future?

@snowyterrorgami spend money to make money

yeah I’ve heard that but businesses would have a prediction to see wither or not its a good choice to go forth the the idea. Most likely GHG had to first do a breakeven chart to show how many of GDT they would have to sell to then start making money.

That is right. Although there is a problem. If they don’t get profit they won’t make any money

So if (just an example) they had to spend $50.000 to get it on consoles and only earns $25.000 then they don’t earn any when they need to pay the expenses

Thats why you have market researches

I know, that is why they may know before hand that it would not be profitable

Why make gamedev tycoon portable so we can play everywhere.

Game Dev Story is already out!

and Windows Phone!!!

Again: Game Dev Story is already on mobile platforms. That is the inspirational source of THIS game.

And? Nobody suggested otherwise. I mean, just because there’s something similar available, why does that mean people shouldn’t ask for this game to be available? Would you tell anyone asking about the latest blockbuster game (insert name here) that they can play the older version on any number of platforms? No. I’m sure your information is only intended to be helpful but it isn’t answering the point about THIS game being on other platforms.

Guys calm down they said GDS is inspiration for this game

lol. BTW, have you ever heard of the fact that these are INDIE DEVELOPERS? I’m not saying they cant port it to mobile platforms, but real games dont play mobile games. Also, a lot of extra work. They could have used that work to improve the main game instead. Prioritizing, my friends.

To those who would say that GDS is already available. Yeah, thats true but it sucks after you have tried GDT.
Since the fist time I played GDS I’ve been looking for a similiar game and when I found GDS through a link on Facebook that was posted by the Swedish Pirate Party I bought it instantly.
GDT is so much better and a mobile version would be awesome if it could be ported, I would absolutely pay for it again but I understand that it could be better to start a new project.

Yes, they probably don’t have enough Research Points, Time, and Money to port it over ATM. A new project would be needed for this. Improvements for the main game should be spent with this.

You know something, actually I would avoid GDT on my phone OS as it stands at the moment. Until you fix the saving issues on the main game, I don’t think you should waste any time or resources on anything else. It’s a gamebreaker.

Also I don’t care how ‘Indie’ GHG are, something that has been a problem this long should have been fixed by now.
