Why greenheart doesn’t use Desura to sell their games also?
After steam it’s the next best digital shop I know that welcomes indie devs without the hastle of steams greenlight. So while people are waiting for steam to give the game greenlight the rest of the community that for one or another reason is afraid to use website shop or risk making microsft account could play it in Desura.
bump. How many times must I press bump before reply button lights up. Oh, here it is.
They could also release it on gog.com That page for once doesn’t force an annoying third party installer down your throat.
Far to american for the rest of us users from other countries.
For now the new market they are targeting is steam :

Am well aware of that. But steam greenlight is a very slow progress. Desura is more welcomed for indie dev’s. Just wondering why not throw it in there also.
You’re right it’s not a bad idea IF the process to get a game to their platform is easy and don’t ask any modification of the game + easy to update.
Better see with @PatrickKlug and @DanielKlug.

Updating might not be super easy. Any updates need to be past through their inspections. So updates might take a few days longer.
I’m also a fan of Xenonauts. And they are using desura for preorders and alpha/beta runs until they finish the game and link it to steam.
we released the game last week. we just didn’t have time to consider other distribution methods yet. We knew that it would take a while to get into Steam so that’s why we’re already on Steam Greenlight.
oh, ok. But are you thinking about using other distribution methods meanwhile that are more welcoming for indes?
With the sudden influx of new players they’ve already had, they are currently swamped with getting bugs fixed, so getting the game onto another release platform is lower on their priority list.
That said, they do seem to be making progress, and once the game is stable on all platforms, I expect Desura and others will be revisited and more people will be able to purchase the game.
