Hi,
I never really understood why don’t we gain design, research, technology points when we make a game.
Don’t you know the “practice makes perfect” expression ? (sounds better in my language though)
I’m not saying to get off the “training” module. I would like to see something like, when you finish a game, everyone that worked like to more than 90% gain like +2 or +1 in what they worked in.
For example, the main character works on the engine, then at the end, he gains like +3 tech +1 design.
That is not that much and it would be more realistic no ?
Also, i just wanted to ask for a all boost button.
A little button in the bottom center of the screen that launchs the boost for every person of the staff that have the boost. That’b great too.
I’m for this. Aside from gaining points towards levels, the developers should gain stats towards their abilities from their role in producing a game as well (for example, a dev put into doing story/quests will gain some design points, while those put into AI will gain some tech points, at the end of the development process). Granted, the stats gained should not be as high as being artificially trained through books, G3 jams or teaching courses, but it would be more realistic for each developer to gain points towards their abilities from the role they had in creating the game.
I tought that at first, but if you boost everyone at the start, you can boost them twice in the development instead of using the boost just one time. I think that is more productive BUT i’m not sure about that.
In general boosts are used when you feel that the game you are working on needs more Tech and/or Design points.
Not to be used to just overdo your last best score.
Another idea.
Pre-order.
Makes you gain a bit of money (consedering your number of fans) BUT disable the possibility to trow the game after development. Cost as mush as multi platform on research points.
Yeah but you have a penalty when the game rate is lower than excepted.
The pre order would make an expiation that just would make you loss many fans but no money.
Also the publishers affects your selling, this would not do that because you’re still self publishing.
I understand your point though.
