Why is the demo not available on Steam?

Why is the playable demo not available on Steam?

I asked the Steam forums and they say it’s a developers decision.
Is this true and why?

(Btw, I purchased the game after playing the demo from your download section.)

Heya,

We do need to update our demo and its on our list of things to do. As for putting it on Steam, that’s on our list of things to think about.
