I launch the game but whenever it does, it appears as a completely white screen.
I don’t take it this is supposed to happen so please tell me what is going on.

Buy the game and get 1.3.9, it should fix the white screen issue.
@Fruit_Platter Maybe he wanted to try the game before he buys it, very helpful.
@cutterchaz Have you tried reinstalling the Demo, maybe not the most easy way but fairly big change it will fix your problem.
Aye, however when I uninstall I can’t uninstall the whole thing as some processes are keeping the bloody thing from completely uninstalling and the processes won’t end and @Fruit_Platter I cannot currently afford the game and if I’m going to buy the game, I want to be using steam.
reboot your machine, uninstall the demo and reinstall it, then disable your internet connection and start the game. The white screen issue in some cases has been linked with the internet connection side of the webkit used to make the game.

Hey Patrick thanks for getting back to me, sorry for the really late reply, I have since uninstalled the game and bought it on steam but I still get the same issues. The screen is completely white and doesn’t load up unless I disconnect from the internet and play it offline.
There is also a process that stays on even after I have closed the game down called GameDevTycoon.exe *32 that will not end even through Task Manager.
I have no option to run it as an admin beacuse it’s through steam.
My anti-virus is Virgin Media Security powered by Trend Micro. If you could get back to me that’d be great.

In our experience the most likely cause of this is that some Anti-Virus and/or Firewall software is interfering with the application.
Please add an exception to your Anti Virus. If you do not know how to do this then let me know which AV you are using and I will find you a guide.
Simply turning the AV off does not stop all aspects of it from running so an exception must be added.
Please be aware that after adding the exception you need to validate the game files to restore any that the AV deleted.

If you’re not using Steam then please re install after you have added the exception.
Also please try these and let me know if any helps;
- Also you can Run the game with Windows Vista compatibility, to change the compatibility mode correctly please use the files in the steam folder. (This has worked for some users)
- Try to disable your AV temporarily (at your own risk - with the internet disabled).
- Please make sure your service packs for your OS are up to date and that you close any background programs such as web browsers, email, instant messengers. Also make sure you are running the game as an admin.
- Use Alt + Enter to take it to windowed mode once you hit the white screen
- Right click the shortcut -> Properties -> Compatibility. Make sure you check run as administrator.
- Disable desktop composition and disable desktop visual themes.
- Disable msi afterburner or evga precision etc
- Disable SLI
- Disable extra monitors from multi monitor setups
- Please run Game Dev Tycoon from an internal Hard drive not a flash drive as some users have experienced problems when using flash drives that are solved once they installed on an internal hard drive.
