Why can’t I update my game engine instead of creating a new one

I have to spend $5 mill every 6 months or so getting really expensive

Earlier on in the game, you might think that’s a lot of money, but toward the late game, the research point you get from creating a game engine far outweighs the money you spend on it.

Not that I think it’s a good game mechanic, but that’s just the way it is.
