I’ve seen at least two different people claiming to have played 1.4 on Steam. Can anybody explain this?
yeah i know that has been bugging me all day, it’s like how…?
Steam keys that are given out to purchasers by email are immediately active, so those who bought directly from GHG will get to play 1.4 sooner than anyone else. - Apparently this is a little hit-and-miss as to whether you get one that is active.
Anyone who bought the game on Steam will have to wait until tomorrow, probably around 9am Valve time (Pacific Standard - GMT-8), which is 5pm GMT, or 6pm BST (British Summer Time - GMT+1), although Valve could unlock the game at anytime before then.
Windows Store customers will have to wait until Microsoft releases the update… which is scheduled for the 29th, but may take a little longer.
I haven’t got my steam key and i purchased it on the site
so, if i bought the game quite some time back i’ll be able to DL via the upload link i recived in the mail, correct?
I’ve activated the aformentioned code but it blocks me from using or even downloading the game(via steam).
so is it like my region(western-europe) that i can’t play or am i just unlucky here?..
meh 1 day won’t kill me,but today was my day off so it would’ve been more convienent.
My understanding of how Steam works led me to believe that the keys would be active immediately, but this might not be the case, although some people have been playing already.
Yes. That is still the official method of updating the Desktop edition to the latest build. You’ll get your Steam key in a new email, and the Steam edition is a separate install from the Desktop edition, so they can be installed side-by-side.
I replied to your other topic about how to get it back so you should check that
If you have lost your download email, then you should contact orders@fastspring.com with as much detail as you can provide (your original email if you’ve changed addresses, your paypal or credit/debit card details, the rough date you ordered, etc) and they should send you a new email. If you’re unsure of this process, then an email to @Charlie at support@greenheartgames.com should be sufficient to ask for help.
