Where does Steam Key go from Windows 8.1 edition?

I FINALLY GOT THE PAGE TO SHOW!!! I changed my default browser to the Windows 8 Internet Explorer and it opened without a problem but now, I have another problem. The page is blank. Like it says Game Dev Tycoon and the top: here is the page it takes me too but the body of the website is blank white for me. Please help if you could. EDIT: I took the link off because it could have given everyone a free Steam key but when I clicked it in desktop Google Chrome, IT WORKED!!! I AM GOING TO TRY TO ENTER IT IN STEAM! YESSSSSSS!!! AHHHHHH! Sorry… I may have over exaggerated but it has been SO annoying…especially for such an EASY fix. Thank all of you for the help. If a problem occurs, I will let you guys know!

Glad to hear it worked but I’m really not sure what the issue was. @VlentfulGaming Can you outline in a numbered list what the necessary steps were to solve this?

Hopefully this can help someone else in the future.

Yes, I can.

  1. Google Chrome was my default browser on desktop which I believe caused the problem.
  2. Unistalled Game Dev Tycoon
  3. Went to Windows Store
  4. Logged into account that purchased Game Dev Tycoon
  5. Reinstalled Game Dev Tycoon and allowed permission for app to use my internet connection
  6. Went to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Internet Options and then selected the “Security” tab
  7. Made security level “Custom” and enabled most things that made me unprotected.
  8. Disabled pop-up blocker in the “Custom” settings from step 7 and disabled pop-up blocker on the “Privacy” tab
  9. Made mouse go to top right corner and clicked on “Search”
  10. In the search box I typed “Default Programs”
  11. Clicked on “Set Default Programs” option
  12. Made Internet Explorer one of my default programs(came pre-installed with my Windows 8 so in other words, made the Windows 8 version of Internet Explorer my default browser; the Internet Explorer version is Internet Explorer 11)
  13. Went to Game Dev Tycoon and loaded up a save and right clicked and then click “Get Steam Key” and waited while my heart beat rapidly
  14. Then, it loaded up Internet Explorer 11 next to my game(like in a somewhat side panel you could call it I guess) and then I copied the link to the website because the website was white and didn’t(fully) load
  15. Went to Google Chrome and pasted the copied link from my clipboard into the URL box and pressed “Enter”
  16. Everything loaded up and I clicked on the box with my Steam key and it said it automatically copied the key to my clipboard(and it did)
  17. Then I opened up Steam, redeemed the key(there is already a link on your website somewhere on how to redeem a key), download and installed the game, then opened up the game and started playing(with mods)(there is already a link on your website somewhere on how to redeem a key)
  18. Then I went back and made Google Chrome my default browser again
This is everything that I did to fix this. Now, I am sure that this would for the desktop version of Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer but I have only tried it on Chrome. But the main key here is I made Internet Explorer my default browser and everything was good.

Thanks for the feedback about your diagnostic steps @VlentfulGaming and glad you got it sorted! Enjoy the mods!
