When my friend was playing the game he always asked. Why am I always getting low reviews? What I am doing wrong? I have very little money right now, so please help me. Then I said: Oh you just have to put the sliders and the combo correctly. Then I created a new game for him Sports/Simulation.
-Then Engine and Gameplay high, A.I. high and bum done. I guarantee that you will get success in this one.
Then the reviews were:
9
10
10
9
Gained 300K sells
He said: Wow how the hell I got such a good score, dude you are amazing!
Next, he began gaining money and fame. From 2K fans to 10K fans.
Then I said: Now in the game’s algorithms you have to make a good game then a normal game then a good game and etc. Now let’s make a normal game:
Military/Action.
Again!
9
10
9
9
Gained 250K sales
Then we all started laughing because we weren’t expecting that much!
Ok now we have to make a new engine, just select everything here, make the engine and… (a few moments later) done!
Now let’s make the best game ever!
Fantasy/RPG for Gameling, choose Young audience and put dialogues, quests and world designs to maximum! Let’s make game and…?
10
9
10
10
500K+ sells.
He got amazed.
3 games with more than 9 of score in a row.
Actually that never happened to me but happened to him because he makes such horrible games.
Nice Story :). Heres What happened to me the other day.
So I was creating an RPG-FANTASY game for the Mbox Next, since Rpg games are my strengths, and that rpgs are the easiest to get a more accurate and perfect score (in my opinion). So, I disregarded the wiki, because the majority of the games I create are rpgs. I set the sliders accordingly, and made sure I campaigned the right time, etc. And when the reviews came in, I got a perfect score, plus an 11! I was so happy, because It was my first time getting an 11! But when the sales came in… GDT said that the target audience wasn’t right for the console/topic/game, and the sales were lower than expected. O_O
AndI got crazy review such as 9s and 10s, it was pretty funny.
EDIT: And I was messing with the save files making my staff have like 15000 tech or design and like I broke the rating algorithm and I keep getting 1s or 2s.
It was year 142. I was just working on my fan base. I knew I had to get my fan base up in order to get the unobtainium achievement. I was sitting around 350M.
I decide to do a large dungeon action game. I had just activated two new features on my engine so I wouldn’t jump in score fast. I learned that you when doing only large games, research your own convention about a month or two before you start so it activates while the game is on sale.
Anyway… The reviews came in. 9.5… I wasn’t thinking the game had a chance to hit that 100M mark. They way the game started selling, I was thinking 40M. BAM!! My convention hit! Sales skyrocketed like it just went on sale again. It was creeping around 80M copies. BAM! G3 hit! Sales again skyrocketed to like it just went on sale. My eyes never left the green sales boxes. 94…96…97…98…99…100M! Final tally was 110M sold.
I’m an official fan of the conventions…even if you have click 100 times to make the counter go faster.
