To help new players

Wether you been playing the game for a while now or just started playing, i guess most of us have a wiki window open to check if our topic and genre match, at least i do.

There is so much to take into account when making a new game.
And even though a Vampire/Adventure sounds plausible, it simply would be a combination you should avoid, according to the wiki.
With so many combinations, it shouldn’t be so much of a trial and error.
So this is what i came up with to help all players and ecspeccially new players, since they probably have no idea that getting a odd combination will drag down your rating.

What if after choosing a Genre and you went to the Topic selection, all Great matches were highlighted green and strange matches would be highlighted yellow. The “avoid” combo could be either red or not visible at all.
New players might be turned of by the fact that they thought having to find a nice combo, but it just doesn’t seem to work.
With the release on Steam incoming, i think working towards a more convenient game, would most likely end up in better sales.

Yeah, I, just like you, have been playing with the wiki open (and I don’t say it was bad, in fact it way pretty funny), but I think, just like you, that it could be more easy to know what is good or worse for the combos.
Like myself, I wanted to create a Pirate Strategy game, and I totaly saw it, but it didn’t match wit hthe wiki…

So maybe, why not make special research that improves the matches of a special topic with a special genre ?

Like you have a Romance topic ? Okay, let’s put someone for a little time in Research so he find a way to mix it with a Strategy game. Couldn’t it be fun ?

This way I think we will be more close to our games, they’ll be more “ours”.

Would be great to be able to do more research about a topic and making it match with different genres.
Some genres could use more topics.
