To carry over my save files from the demo would i just carry all the items inside Program Files (x86)/Game Dev tycoon into the new folder when I buy it?
It really depends on which version you are going from, demo to steam or demo to windows. And as far as I can tell, it requires more than just copy and paste of files. I can walk you through the process but it is a little harder for the normal user. In terms of versions, the latest version for the game save files is 6. The demo reads version 4 so the story and everything would be a little out dated on your save file.
I’d be going from demo to Steam, but the more I think about it the more I want to start over. So thanks for the reply!
Although we wanted to add the facility to load your old saves, it seems that it may not be working fully as intended, We will investigate this.

Honestly that is the best choice, you would be missing out on a lot of new and updated content.
