The game devs got the time when the ps2 was canned and discontinued. The ps2 was discounted in 2013 at the announcement of the ps4.

I am aware at what year the ps2 was discontinued. it was a typo.
Doesnt mean developers have to stop developing for it. Heck there is a niche market for developing and selling games for the NES and other systems.
