The new gaming PC i'm going to build - Would you do anything different?

nothing that’s just for streaming you dont need to worry about that unless you want to go down that road

Well, my net speed is 36 mbps down and 10 mbps up

my 650w blew up when i was overclocking my gpu so i just went and got a higher one and when it came to the performance increase i know i cant back up my claims with screen shots or anything but when i swapped the motherboard round and the cpu used all the same setups bla bla bla i could not believe my eyes with the performance increase it was mind boggling

yeah you can stream 1080p 30fps as twitch only allows 3.5mbs upload so if you want to stream you can

no wonder you were getting better performance
Key word “Overclocking”

i know this is a bit off topic but off the top of you head i7 4790k or i7 4820k extreme ???

Depends, what are you doing with it? And are you planning on spending $200+ on a new motherboard?

An overclocked Pentium G3258 has primarily the same speed as an stock i7.

i7’s are i5’s with hyperthreading. i7’s have no benefit in gaming over the i5’s. (Unless you look into the i7 extreme CPU’s, but they cost a lot, and so do the motherboards)

And a G3258 will overclock to stock i5/7 speeds, yes, but you’ll need:

  1. A really good CPU cooler (liquid would be best) - ~$100
  2. A really good overclocking motherboard - ~$140
  3. A good knowledge of overclocking, to get it to those speeds - ~priceless, lol

Add all that up, plus 75 for the CPU, you could just buy a stock i5/7 and have money left over.

I’d buy more wattage, you CPU is fine considering most games use barely your CPU anyway, except for Open world games.

Would go with a ssd for boot and hdd for everything else. Dont need a big drive 128g for $74 USD. On newegg.com

I was going to sell my PeasantBox 360 and put the money I get for it towards a 128GB SSD. Still not sure though

Well then if i wanted i5-4670K i’d need a whole new mobo, and i can’t be ar*ed
