Thank You Greenheart Games

To Any Interested Readers,

I just wanted to take a minute and explain how I came about this game. I had never heard of your company or your game until I read an article on Joystiq about the issues that your company was having with its piracy. Personally, I’m not much of a PC gamer and I likely wouldn’t have heard of your game if it weren’t for the article on Joystiq’s website/mobile app, which came from the postings on your website.

I’m sorry for all of the issues that you’ve had with people stealing copies of your game. I’ve never stolen a game so I don’t know much about how some of the logistics of torrents work but I really appreciated the way you handled the situation. I didn’t download the demo nor did I look at any of the reviews for your game. The way you handled the situation, through the altered version of the game on torrent sites and your own postings about the situation, were inspiration enough for me to purchase the game. I’ll be telling as many people as I can about your game and ways you are attempting to confront video game piracy.

I 100% agree that companies like you will keep the industry where it should be (as far away from in-game purchases and free-to-play games) by not only making games that are enjoyed by its players but by reaching out to your community, or in my case potential community, for support. Gaming lacks a certain humanity that we seem to be desensitized to with all of the DRM and Online Pass developers. I understand that purchases drive a company’s ability to make games but I think you have found one clear way to support legal acquisitions of your game without ostracizing your community. So thank you for making what I hope is a good game but more importantly creating a good cause for people to support.

Best of luck to you and your future endeavors (hopefully I’ll get to play those too!).
