Hey guys! I’ll try and keep this brief.
I’m far into my firs game, and I’m trying for both the 11/10 achievement and the 100m sales achievement. However, every game I release is averaging a 5, 6 if lucky, and 1 if very unlucky. I’m using combinations I haven’t used in a long time, so the tech has definitely improved, and I’m using the best researched things in the game (3D V7, etc). So, where am I going wrong? How can I go back to making 8+ games, even though I’m as high as I can go in most ways?
Currently in-game: Year 116, 23m fans, highly successful console, 3D Graphics V7, All staff at least Lv. 12, all other categories at least Lv. 11, Staff Design+Tech is in the high 900’s and early 1000’s, with me training yearly.
Thanks so much!!
The game-world slowly raises its expectations over time but in the late-late game as you are (116 years is a long way!) you simply don’t have any technology or skill advances to make, in order to make any of your next games better than many you made before.
The game was simply not designed to be played for that long. Your best bet is to start a new game, or alternatively, install some mods that add late-game tech.
Shoot, then how do you get 100m sales in a quicker time?
Thanks.
The raising expectations should be something that can be turned off. Instead of just restarting, some people, like me, just enjoy the process of creating and improving games.

I feel like this should not be a thing in the current way the game is built. Sure, an option to turn it off would be nice but it would completely break the way the ratings systems work. If you turn that off, making great games simply is far more easy and would take away most of the challenge in Game Dev Tycoon because of the way it has been built up.

It’s like a flat earth with no gravity
I should specify. It should be something that can be turned off once you complete the game (35 years or so). As the game progresses, I enjoy the steadily increasing expectations. However, after the main game is completed, I would rather just mess around and not have to worry about the changing expectations.
