so i have a huge endgame save of the game, and i was browsing through my games i made and stumbled on this, anyone having a better score with the same strange topic/genre relation?
Er, according to the wiki (http://gamedevtycoon.wikia.com/wiki/Game_Development#Single_Genre_combinations ) Dance/Action isn’t a “strange” combo, it’s just not a great one.
Yeah, @flamefrost225 is right. It’s not a strange combo, it’s worse than a strange combo. I’m surprised you got that score as well, you must have had a good D/T balance or something.
For everyone who hasnt figured it out yet… there was a “Strange combo” trend, therefore it is a strange combo, and that is also why it did so well
The bonus from the strange combo trend exactly cancels out the natural penalty of doing a strange combo (IIRC, someone correct me if I have this wrong). So in essence, you get to make a strange combo game without a penalty as long as you release it within the trend’s window.
I think it still penalizes your design/tech bubble generation, but gives a bonus to your final review score to make up for the penalty to the design/tech.
The strange combo trend also slaps a review score/sales penalty on titles that are made with normally ‘good’ combos. It stinks to have this trend fire in the middle of developing a ‘normal’ game.
