Some pretty basic ideas, that could be relatively easy to implement, but could expand the game quite a bit:
- Multi topic games (like Space / Sci-Fi, or Horror / Detective)
- Multi platform releases (in real life some games are released on all gaming platforms). Costs much more money, so more risk/reward
- Larger staff than max 7
- Doing multiple games/projects at once
- More staff means taking more risk, as you have to pay them, makes management more complex than it already is, while allowing for becoming even bigger
- Perhaps gaining skill levels at genre’s, just like gaining skill levels at 3d/2d renderers now. Companies in reality can specialize on certain game types (like id Software with 3d shooters, or blizzard with RPG/strategy)
A few problems I’ve had playing the game:
- I once assigned 2 gameplay specialists, stupid by me, but I could be warned about it. It felt like a silly mistake with too large consequences
- I want to have a better overview of games I’ve released, like basic excel-ish lists, instead of having to scroll through every single one of them
- I would like some more details on games I’ve released, such as which engine it used. Maybe I would like to be able to open the reviews of that game again, to see if it contained some clues I might have forgot about
- I don’t like how the dialogs and messages pop up. Can’t you look into a civ5 style solution (messages pop up as buttons on the side of the screen, which you can then click to read. If necessary pause the game until dealt with.)
- I would like the technologies researched to be classified in some way, such as ‘researched in Y2 M3’, just so I get a better idea when a new engine should be created now, or if I should still research some more techs for it.
Can’t come up with anything else off the top of my head now. Generally it’s a great game, and it has a very high ‘one more turn’ factor, or should we call it ‘one more game’ factor?
