Does this game really require that much planning and knowledge about the sliders to be successful in this game?
Seems to be what I’m getting looking on the wiki and the success guides and seeing people using spreadsheets to figure out what would be good or not.
Can’t I just wing it instead of having to plan things out to get further into the game?
Yes you can. But you also gotta know what to do and what NOT to do.
For example, Does an RPG/Adventure game needs more design than technology? Yes, so you have to get balance in the sliders, making the sliders with the most Design-based to be up, and the Tech-based to be down.
I think that the sliders that are design-based are on the left, and
the ones tech-based are on the right. The middle one are just
Balancers.
Woops! Sorry, i was wrong. See my post below for a bit more details.
In Instance, again, Does an Action/Simulation game needs more technology than design? Yes, so you have to make the tech-based sliders to go more than the design-based ones.
And think what goes on well with a Medieval topic? RPG and Adventure! Right! and what goes well with a Racing game? Action and Simulation! Yes!
If you still don’t know what you’re doing, you could always Personal Message me. Thank you!
Tech-based : Engine, Artificial Intelligence, Sound* Design-based : Gameplay*, Story/Quests, Dialogues, Level Design*, World Design, Graphic*
*It maybe just a balance between the two, but i go with that.
P.S.: Go look in the Wikia page. Or just go Personal Message me to continue this conversation, not gonna spoil the game.
The last development stage (3) is between Design and Tech. So like sound is 50/50 tech/design, World Design and like Graphic is 60/40 or 55/45 design tech so its very balanced on the last one.
Of course you can wing it, Its a great way to learn what does and doesn’t work.
People have different play styles, some people meta game every game they play, reading and researching every move they make. Others rely on instincts. Just play how you want, if you get stuck on a specific aspect then look up that aspect or ask on the forums
