Something went wrong with game design there.
From what I saw in the video, there is just too much going on.
I assume all those features are introduced gradually. ( I really hope so. )

Then the ‘sims’ feature of buying personal items… ( I know it has been suggested once on this forum )

I know I am being very negative, without even playing the game myself. Sometimes a video shows enough to put me off.
Either they didn’t play test the game at all or only play tested it themselves.
I refuse to believe they found a bunch of people to test and they all said it was a great game.

I hope future devs learn from this, when they want keep adding “fun” stuff to their game :smile:

But the actual game is from 2006. It’s STEAM RELEASE is 11 Feb, 2014. I played this game years ago! :wink:

I have to say that I actually really enjoyed this game. This was a couple years ago though. This was one of the most popular (and it wasn’t even popular) and rare good Game Dev games out there. Therefore I hadn’t many choice, and I definitely don’t regret putting all the hours in the game that I did. I understand the video will put a lot of people off, but I got to say that it was good when it was in it’s glory (a couple years ago, this game was released in 2006 as far as I know). Now there are more and better Game Dev games out there like, of course, Game Dev Tycoon and now it might look like nothing. :wink:

I do not ‘compare’ games.
all I am saying is that the whole game does not look 'streamlined’
There are quite a few things I saw in the game play video, that simply doesn’t belong in the game or could have been simplified a lot.

The fact that you liked the game also does not mean its a good game, no offence and I am sure I played games that I thought were enjoyable, but in general were badly designed games.
Everyone is biased towards certain types of games, simply because we love the topic or genre.
Of course it’s also a matter of opinion :wink:
