Sliders for the 3 development stages

I’ve noticed something with the sliders when creating the games for your company in GDT. When I viewed the trailer to the game one thing that was said in it was that you can play around with the sliders to set the importance of each portion of the development, and when I go through the development stages, Action, Simulation and Strategy must have the sliders setup as, Engine/AI/Sound = Maximum, Stories&Quests/Dialogue/World Design = Minimum and Gameplay/Level Design/Graphics = 50%. Then when you make a game based on RPG and Adventure the sliders are vice versa but with Gameplay/Level Design/Graphics = 50%, showing me the final results of every game I create with good to bad scores, resulting in my company going bankrupt and playing around with the sliders doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Why does it seem to be setup like that?

In fact, the 100%-50%-0% or 100%-80%-0% positions are typical positions you can start with, when you don’t really know the game. As you feel more comfortable with the different genres, the balance of your team, and the many many other things needed to make a good game, you’ll learn to step out of the “easy no-brainer”, et optimize more, and have good reviews.
I’m on my fifth game now, and I almost never use any more the “good for beginner” slider positions, and I think my very last loss-making game was on my second. Since then, with no exception, all my game were beneficial, thus preventing me to go bankrupt.

Well I have been playing the game for months, but I’ve noticed that playing around with the sliders was one of the many features that was good when I first started playing this game and had fun mixing everything up, and I miss being able to do that lol

There is still mostly freedom with the sliders.

All those “preset” slider settings just ruin the fun.

And of course Action games need more Engine, while an RPG can do with minimum, but as long as a slider is not marked with — or – then it is ok to have those sliders in any position you like.

when I play I do find that a little annoying when you have – or —, and then on other parts you get ++ or +++ and then things work differently but I guess it’s what has to be used to help make better games as you go along lol.
