[SITE] Unofficial Game Dev Tycoon Mods Site

It’s not that we didn’t accept your offer, but you didn’t come in when we were doing it.

This topic is now pinned. It will appear at the top of its category until it is either unpinned by a moderator, or the Clear Pin button is pressed.

Thanks for pinning the topic Charlie!

Thank me too for asking and having contact with her.
She also registered on the site and I made her Global Moderator.

Will i get cake? :cake:

Because it’s you. :cake:
There you are :stuck_out_tongue:

I would’ve came in if it was accepted.

We never said you weren’t accepted. :stuck_out_tongue:

never said I was.

You could’ve came in the conversation and helped us with the things we were talking about. You didn’t do that too though. We didn’t expet you to help any further… but let’s stop. Is it that bad of a problem? :stuck_out_tongue:

not really but I’ve asked you a question on the forums

(not these ones the gamedevmods one)

True.

Since this is rather buried it could do with being brought back to the top  Any particular reason it was unpinned?

At this stage the website is largely a forum, so it just duplicates things that are available here. We don’t want to fragment our users across multiple different forums so pinning this to the top, and thus directly guiding new users to it, would be counter-intuitive.

Ahh, makes perfect sense  Thanks for the explanation

I agree. The site is largely a forum. So I would recommend we remove the forum @AnimeAi and with a bit of encouragement we could guide players to add their mods on our site so that people can get a better view of the mods available. This doesn’t mean taking players away from these forums, modders will still want to add posts about their mods to ‘advertise’ them and get players to play their mods.

No, removing the forum would be a very bad idea. We’re not gonna do that… there are people on our site which aren’t part of this forum… people come from everywhere on our site so removing the forum would be a horrible idea. Also, you guys aren’t really doing anything for the site anymore…

Updated GameDevMods

  • Added some post-based ranks
  • Added the rank ‘Forum Helper’ with permissions
  • Added Staff board

We would love it if you come too! You can find us at www.gamedevmods.com!

Well due to it being my idea I’d say I’m playing a role; just letting it run smoothly. But let’s not argue, my main point of the site was for just mods, not forums. I feel as if we are taking people away from here with our own forums.

Most of the people on our forum are on this forum too. The actual forum is the only interactive (except for the chat, but noone is ever on that) of the site. Every site needs a little bit of interactivity. We also have some people from the Steam Discussions. It doesn’t matter if you’re the one which had the idea of the site or whoever deserves the most right. We all discussed and came to the point that we’re all admins and we choose what we’re going to do together. You can’t just take the forum away. People will still stay here even if they are registering on our site. Taking the forum away is pointless and make our site even less interactive then it already is. Interactivity is important to have a good site. After all they can choose theirselves what they want, but I highly doubt they are going to leave this forum and/or Steam Discussions because of our site. Also, you might have been having the idea of it but therefore you have to do something for it. I can’t just say to my parents (for example): ‘Give me a new PC.’ Well… it was my idea so I’m playing a role. No, they will ask things for it, ideas are nothing with reality. I feel like you actually have to do something for your idea instead of coming up with it, then becoming admin on the site and after all being actually ‘pointless’ for further times on the site. Well… this message is longer then I expected it to be. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK. Maybe we should keep the forums on then, and can you shut up with the ‘playing a role’ thing.
